Freshman Focus: Kevin Cummings

Los Angeles (Calif.) Crespi wide receiver Kevin Cummings was a last minute addition to the 2009 class, but greyshirted and entered school last winter term in time to take part in spring camp.

Cummings entered OSU as a decorated high school athlete. He was a Rivals three-star athlete who was selected to play for Team USA on the 2009 Junior National Team, where he helped his team win a gold medal. Cummings was also first team all league and held a scholarship offer from San Diego State, before deciding to pledge Oregon State.

On the brink of his second spring camp with the Beavers, Cummings is excited about all that he has learned as he continually works to get better on the field.

"My greatest improvement this year has been in my understanding of the game and everything that happens on the field," Cummings said. "I feel really comfortable with the playbook now and I'm working on the physical part of the game in order to be a complete player."
